What PIC collects, why, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

PIC is made by 480data. Questions about this notice go to support@480data.com.

What we collect

Your fuel log, checklists, weight and balance figures and user waypoints stay on your device. If you pair a second display, the two devices exchange your flight plan and flight state directly over the Wi-Fi they share, not through our servers. If you turn on serial output, PIC sends navigation data only to the Bluetooth adapter you choose. If you turn on the camera as a light meter for Auto night mode (on devices with no light sensor), PIC reads only the brightness; no images are kept or sent.

Other services PIC contacts

To show weather and imagery, PIC requests data directly from public services, including aviationweather.gov, the Iowa Environmental Mesonet and the USGS. Those services see your device's internet address, as any website would. PIC uses Google for sign-in and Firebase for notifications.

What we don't do

How long we keep it

Account and aircraft data are kept while your account is open. Device notification tokens expire a year after the app last used them. When you delete an aircraft or close your account, we delete the data within a reasonable time, except where we must keep it by law.

Your choices

You can use PIC's maps and downloaded data without sharing aircraft or filing flights. To get a copy of your data, or to have it deleted, email support@480data.com.

Changes

We'll post changes here with the date they take effect.
